Incognito Art Sale, in aid of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, Sells Out, raising €188,040

By Jack & Jill | Press Release | Comments are Closed | 22 April, 2021 | 2

Artists Who Donated Artwork to the Incognito Collection to be Revealed tomorrow, Friday, at 12 noon –

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation has announced that its online Incognito Art Sale, which got underway at 10am this morning, has sold out raising €188,040. Monies raised will fund Jack & Jill’s specialist home nursing care to 374 children with life-limiting conditions right across the country, including end-of-life care.

Now that the collection is sold out, the BIG REVEAL will happen tomorrow, Friday April 23, at 12 noon, on www.incognito.ie, when people will be able to see just who painted what. Meanwhile, the artwork bought will be posted directly to purchasers over the coming days.

With an unprecedented level of interest – with almost 12,000 shoppers trying to buy the artwork as the sale got underway – Jack & Jill wishes to acknowledge the patience of shoppers as the website encountered some technical difficulties in coping with the sheer volume of activity. However, delighted members of the public have been receiving notifications of successful purchases throughout the morning and afternoon.

The 2021 Incognito collection featured 3,134 original, postcard-size pieces of art, all generously donated to the charity by the artists. Today hundreds of lucky buyers secured their favourite piece of art for €60 per artwork, without knowing the artist’s identity as it was all done ‘incognito’ for Jack & Jill.

Turning Art into a Currency for Care

Carmel Doyle, CEO, Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, comments: “We thank everyone for their huge kindness and support to Jack & Jill today and for the many donations that we have received. We depend on the generosity of the artists who donate their time and talent to Jack & Jill for this Incognito art sale, turning their beautiful art into a real currency for care and on behalf of the 374 children we support across the country I want to thank and salute all the artists involved.”

This year’s collection features a Who’s Who of the art world, with works from over 1,200 artists including Robert Ballagh, Peter Curling, Maser, Una Sealy and Helen Steele to name but a few. The collection also included celebrity names including U2’s The Edge, rock star Bob Geldof, fashion designer Paul Costelloe and comedians Tommy Tiernan and Jason Byrne.

The collection featured a broad range of mediums, from oils and pastels, to glass and metalwork donated by artists not only from Ireland, but 13 other countries around the world.
